Den 1 augusti år 1999 bröt en brand ut i Tyresta nationalpark och naturreservat som
förändrare landskapets växt och djurliv. Ungefär 10% av området förstördes.
Nu ca 16 år senare kan man fortfarande se spår av den på rötter och nedfallna träd.
